In 2012, Erin wrote a song in memory of her wife and Syren drummer, Jo, who lost her life due to breast cancer: The single 'Never Give Up The Fight' won the 'Frankie Miller Songwriter of the Year' award in 2012 (Scottish New Music Awards) and was released with profits being donated to Breast Cancer Care UK. That same year Erin temporarily resurrected Syren with new musicians when asked to open several shows for legendary prog-rock band Hawkwind.

On January the 16th 2013 Syren performed a last concert under the old name. Erin now continues under her own name 'Erin Bennett.' Her solo debut album 'Reflowered', recorded with a new line-up, was released on March 20th 2015 and was awarded 'Solo Album of the Year' by Scottish Music Blog, Local Music Scene.

Dubbed as 'Music's Wonder Woman' by Indie Pulse Magazine and 'The IT Rocker' by RevGay Mag, Erin is a strong LGBT activist and in 2016 gained the attention of the UK's LGBT community by performing at Pride Festivals throughout the UK and by standing in support of the victims of the Orlando and Mexico Gay Club shootings.

Erin was pictured with Nicola Sturgeon in Scottish press when she attended the St. Andrew's Square Orlando Shooting vigil.

Erin has collaborated with UK DJ/Producer Darren Bailie (responsible for the smash-hit 'Infinity2008') for the re-working of the classic house track 'Hide U' by Kosheen. 'Hide U 2012', put together by Darren Bailie and Ronen Dahan, is available for download from iTunes.
